Teams
Teams lets you organize collaboration into shared organizations with role-based access, shared project spaces, and built-in team chat.
What Teams Includes
Organizations
Group people into a dedicated workspace with its own dashboard, members, projects, and settings.
Shared Projects

Direct Messages (DMs)
DMs are private 1:1 conversations with anyone in your organization — online or offline. They live in the chat sidebar so you never lose track of an ongoing thread.
Starting a DM
- Click the + next to the Direct Messages group in the chat sidebar and search any teammate by name or email — they don't need to be online.
- Or hover an online teammate's avatar in the right panel and click the message icon.
Unread badges & notifications
- A neon counter appears next to each conversation in the sidebar whenever you have unread messages from that person.
- You'll hear a subtle chime + see an in-app notification when a new DM arrives — unless you're already in that thread.
- Opening the DM clears the badge automatically. Email notifications respect your settings under Settings → Notifications.
Online status & last message
- A green dot next to the avatar means that teammate is online somewhere in OpenCharts — not just inside this DM thread.
- The latest message preview is shown under each DM and the list is sorted with the most recent conversation on top.
Organization Settings
Admins and Owners can manage general settings, organization branding (logo, colors, team profile), and collaboration defaults.
- Update name, description, and profile details
- Customize branding and default visibility behavior
- Use owner-only danger-zone actions for transfer/delete
Deleting an organization is irreversible.
